The Microsoft PowerPoint Accessibility Checker
Microsoft PowerPoint has a built-in accessibility checker that can be used to double check whether you have missed anything. Like any automated tool, however, it may not catch everything. It will be able to tell whether an image has alt text, for instance, but has no way of knowing whether alt text that may be present is meaningful. It will also guess at things like items that should be headings, and alert you to unnecessary use of repeated tabs or carriage returns.
Using the Accessibility Checker is a good final step to take before saving or publishing your slide:
- Go to the File tab on the ribbon
- On the Info tab, choose Inspect and choose Check Accessibility
- Review the warnings that are shown and make corrections as necessary
